I have a 98 Grand Prix GT with custom paint, 16" SSC Chrome and black rims,K&N air intake, Blue aftermarket gauge cluster from PFYC.com, Sony internal IPOD ready headunit, 2 12" PYLE Piledrivers and a 1400 watt dual channel Pyle amp. Im looking to buy a GTX or a GTP since it costs more to give my car more ponies then it does to buy another one. I have 6000 cash and Im trying to figure what I can get for that for my car now or if I should buy a new (used GTX or GTP)...help me guys your the best,...........

You could do a top swap...or a turbo build since those usually make more power than our supercharged cars.
You could also take off your rims/tires and whatever you want off of it and sell the car you have now and put all the money towards building a supercharged car.
If your going for all out performance turbo would be your thing I think. However i'm not sure how streetable these cars are turboed. Never looked into it since I have no intetion of taking the car that far hp wise.

I'm sure someone with more experience will chime in since I myself am still learning with these cars and am by NO means an expert when it comes to building one of these cars.

Good luck with your decision and remember it's YOUR money. Do what you want with it.

I say with 800 bucks your can make your GT a supercharged powered car.

Like the person above stated. Its called a Top Swap. Kinda easy/kinda hard to do, but reading and researching are gunna be your friend here. you can find most of teh stuff you need right here on this site with good prices too.

If you want to do it right, it'll be more like $1000 or so (depends if you ship everything or not.)

yeah I see what your saying...its hard to make a decision, this was my moms car and she was killed in a car accident so I rebuilt and did custom paint and all the other custom stuff you can do without touching the engine....I wish there was a way to make it faster without a S/C or turbo.. thanks dude

    Welcome!

Ahh... I forgot all about PFYC. I bought my clear lamps from them for my '97 GT. Gonna have to stroll over there and get another set when I get my GTP.

you can gain about 25-40hp maybe by doing a HV3 insert, headers and a tune. no S/C or turbo for that.
