I own an '02 4 door GTP and have confusing info for 12" front brake upgrades. I want to buy new or rebuilt calipers and new rotors with steel braided lines. I've heard 2000 Trans am or SS Camaro calipers, with Intrigue(sp), Impala, SS Camaro, or '99 GTP 12" powerslot rotors. I prefer to get these at a local parts store if it will be best bang for the buck. Any info would be helpful, as I hope to do the job a week from this Saturday. By the way, I really like GTP,s. A little hard to work on but worth the effort.
    Thanks for any help! TMC

    Well welcome to GPF,

I believe that it is about the same to get a set from a autostore or from one of the vendors, but the cheapest way would be at a junkyard, I would suggest 99+ just cause the car sat in the junkyard the least possible amount of time, but there are other parts needed... but the stainless brake lines can be purchased on e-bay(if you do a search, there was a whole thread on them).... Ir you buy the rotors from anyone other than the vendors I believe it is for a 2000+ monte carlo for the 12" rotors (11.9 to be exact)

For more info check the threads in the suspension section, or post more questions if you cant find your answers

    Welcome!

The F-Body Brake upgrade is easy to do, the hardest thing is tapping the caliper brackets for the bigger bolts on the Grand Prix. Definitely a worthwhile mod!
