Just got a 2001 Grand Prix with the typical trans problem (PCS going bad) Was wondering if many people had luck with using a shift kit to speed up the shifts to avoid max line press..

That's great to know if I ever have that problem. I installed new rotors and pads on my wife's 4dr 02 GT and the front left is making a constant grinding/bent rotor/thud thud thud thud and is really annoying. This being about my 10th brake job on a W-Body car Intrigue/GP's i know what i'm doing. Her car does have a broken front left coil spring the same brake making the noise. My question is....would the broken coil spring cause the wheel to have a camber to it causing the noise or is it just a little bit of a warped rotor? It did seem to get better as I drove it. Maybe i'm just paranoid and it will go completely away as I get more than 2 miles on them. Any ideas would be well appreciated though.

I would put fresh rotors and pads on it. The broken spring is a problem, and will probably cause more wear on that side. Also, check the wheel bearing on that side.

Are wheel bearings easy and cheap? Would AAP have them?

Aap should carry them. They are not too bad to change once you get the axle nut off. That can be a real pain in the a$$ unless you have a STRONG impact. as far as price goes aap has a pair for 145$ pt # 513121. If your taking it down that far I would replace the axles too. depending on the mileage of car. aap has them as well 70$ ea. or you can buy from GM for 110$ ea.
