    hey guys,

Name is jeff but i am on many of forums as kuntzie. i am from Ontario, Canada.

for the last year i have been building up my 2001 grand prix, stated out as a base model GT and has come along way,

the car had a cartuning intercooled turbo kit and no other mods, i snapped the input shaft and thats when the fun began

i am using a 93 lumina z34 5-speed getrag 284 transmission with a spec stage 5 clutch, and it has held up with no issues this far, netting me 430whp at 12psi on a pt61 turbo.

i ahve since upgraded turbo to a holset and am going for 550+ whp in the spring.

the car is also bagged, i did a double din swap, hand e-brake, its a 2008 l26 engine with about 10k miles on it now, hv3, ported TB, and a bunch of other little things.

i just installed zzp 10.3 wires and projector headlights

i have done all of the work myself and won w-body.com's car of the year this past december, and made the calendar for January at oqcgp.net

future plans are CF hood and spoiler plus the air dam

here is the post from winning car of the year with a lits of mods and a bunch of random pics, i do have a complete build thread aswell. the car has had 2 different bag setups, the new setup is lower.

oh yes i also just completed the gxp brake upgrade.

DO WANT! What custom pieces did you have to fab to make the 5-speed work? I'd love to do the swap if it's feasible for me.

the whole interior basically has to be stripped from the car, dash, carpet, seats, center console...steering column/ pedal braket.. basically just the HVAC and wiring along with the steering colum remain.

you have to mod the pedal bracket with the one from the donor car, use a monte brake booster and mod the firewall plate. aswell as addd a union on the master for some extra length,

i did the complete swpa in my parking lot of my apartment, the engine didnt have to come out, but it would be easier with it out of course.

i did this in my spare time over the course of about 4 weeks, i can proably do it in about 30 hours of work though,

this isnt my first 5-speed swap, i also have done man y of cavaliers (much easier) and i have a 89 grand prix that is 5-speed swapped, its a factory Mclaren turbo grand prix, i dynoed 396whp with it but am demodding the headers and such and going back to semi stock for a weekend cruiser

Is there a way you can do a writeup of the install? Id love to do the same thing, but i too am in an apartment. I know you had to do extensive mods to the unibody and cradle with the 6 speed, but was wondering if you had to with the getrag?

Also, axles, and other info would be nice. Thanks!!

a stock clutch is worth over 500 on its own, so theres not much you can do. you gotta pay to play as they say, just think of the money being saved on a built automatic though.

the whole swap i was offering to do to members up here for 3000-3500 installed, tuned and all.

i have a few videos i can post

A $500 stock clutch? No way my brother just bought one for $200, the whole kit. I can find a used flywheel as well.
