Hello everyone I'm Matt. I've had a 2004 GP GT since I was 17, but in 2007 I bought a 2000 VW GTI and it's been my daily summer/project car/sports car killer, but recently my girlfriend got a 97 GP GT so I thought I should finally join the GP forum family, especially after being friends with Kyle99GTP and him helping me with a lot of work on my own car and my gf's. Hopefully I don't get shunned too quickly for owning a Dub, but I've been raised in Pontiac's since I was a kid. My grandfather and I restored a 66 GTO when I was 10 and a 67 Firebird when I was 14, so I've been around Pontiacs for a while now. Hope to get to meet some of you on the forums.

    Cheers

    My GF and I

Her GP GT (it does have tinted tails and sequential turn signals, thanks to the respective authors for their writeups on here, and it also has flipped motor mounts and an intake. More to come)

    My GP and GTI

Sorry, but I just had to put a pic of it.

My GTI is a 12 valve VR6 and it's running about 230 hp and 235 lbft tq as of right now, but since it's only a 2900 pound car it's pretty quick, but in a straight line I get killed by most cars, but it destroys on the track. My philosophy with it was to work on handling first then work on power, becuase any car can go fast in a straight line, making fast turns is an art. But that's just my $.02.

That's a really sweet JTI though (GTI with a Jetta front end for those who didn't know). Want to detail mine sometime?

GTI's a great if you don't have friends, especially tall ones, and if you don't have a lot of stuff to haul. Other than that, I have no complaints... yet. I really wanted a GTP but all the nice ones I found were way out of my price range, bummer.

It's not done yet, I'm still working on the sub woofer grill which will be a VW logo and the cut out will be more of a perfect circle, but it works for now. It has a false floor which I made out of home insulation (the pink stuff) and they have cut outs in them for the tools and jack, so no wasted space. If it would interest anyone I could do a write up on how I did this. I have a quite a few pics from the build.
