New here. I've got a 1998 Gran Prix GT(red) with about 235,000 miles on it. Just curious if there are any more people like me out there, or if there is a forum specific to high mileage cars. I'm not a techy car guy, just someone who enjoys his car.

    Welcome.

Nothing specific to high mileage cars. But there are some of us around here. I'm not far behind you with 233k miles.

My wife and I are "competing" for the 200k mark on the '93 GP B4U I drive and her Suburban. The next oil change on both will be over the 200,000 mile mark. GP has the 3.1 and her Burban has a small block.

I've had the AC compressor replaced at about 200,000. Also new struts at about the same time. Oil Changes every 3000 miles. The front end has been a nagging problem for the last 50,000 miles or so. Keep having to take it in for rattles when I go over bumps. I think it's the control arms or some other supports that keep going bad. Sorry, not sure what they are called. I'm not a mechanic or a guy who knows much about cars.

it's whatever. you'll find any information you'll ever need here. just as with a lot of gm cars, keep the body and chassis in good shape and the motor will never die. the 3800's about bulletproff

That's what my mechanic says. The engine will go forever. The body is in great shape. Never been in an accident. The only issue I have with the body is unerneath the cas cap the paint is peeling. Caused by those last few drops of gas in the hose dripping on it. I try to be careful, but it's kinda too late now.
