I am wondering if something is wrong with my thermostat? Last few days the weather is really cold (-20 to -30, Canada, eh). One morning I noticed temperature gauge went all down (to cold) during the driving. This happened only once. But, I noticed that the car cannot reach his normal working temperature (driving pretty slow due to conditions) even after 1 hour of driving. Most of the time the gauge shows just hardly over the first second line (2nd area) and it normal working temperature is just middle (right on the third line). While idling, the temperature seems to be raising but extremely slowly. As soon as start driving, after 20 seconds the temperature is down to almost half were it should be? I just notice the gauge shows that temparature fluctuate more than it usually does. The heating inside the car works pretty well (did not notice the change). No check engine or any other warning light.

Could anybody please let me know if this is normal for cold weather or something is wrong with thermostat or something else?

Please be aware that I am not car expert which probably can be seen from my post.

Thanks for your replies in advance...
