Yup... I'm a newbie. Up here in good ol' Nova Scotia, Canada. I have 4 cars... '86 olds Cutlass Supreme Coupe w/V6; '89 Caddy coupe deville, Gold Edition; 2000 Grand Prix GT, and of course my beauty, a Canadian 1981 Pontiac Parisianne Brougham 4dr with 80,000 kms (48,000 miles!!!!) The '81 car is near mint! I'll be an ancient 72 years old in November, and have been blessed with good health, and I'm still a car nut. I'm in the process of replacing the motor in the GT, and glad to have found this forum. Cheers!

Thanks for the reply. Rod bearing shot. Have no idea how other parts responded to poor engine maintenance. Rest of car immaculate. Picked up an '02 motor with 80,000 kliks (48k miles).

    Cheers

Would've... should've... but couldn't find one. As it is, I travelled 200+ miles each way to get this motor. Most local area salvage yards had engines with parts gone, then wanted to charge me extra for parts that should have come with the motor in the first place. E.g., an extra $150.00 (Canadian) for an intake manifold??!! The one I picked up in Yarmouth NS is complete, except for alternator, starter, etc., and I'll know how good the engine I bought is when I finish the job... hopefully, this week.
    Cheers!
