Hi folks... been readin' this post since I bought my 2000 GT. A month after purchase, I heard the knock of death. Sure enough, it's a rod bearing. Picked up another motor with 80,000 kms (48,000 miles). I'm in the process of changing motors. All wiring and battery disconnected. Had to use the "shift lockout" to move car to hoist. Now I can't get the key out. Any suggestions?

    Welcome to the site!
For removing the key there is a black plug on the underside of the steering column you pull out and insert a small screwdriver to allow the switch to rotate to the "off" position so you can pull the key out.
