    If i dont have a scanner available 2 scan my car for kr is there any other way 2 know if i have kr? Like would the car react a certain way, sputter, knock or anything? Reason is i have a 98 gtp, it has a 3.4 pulley, 180 stat, 3 inch catback split to 2.5 inch dual turbo mufflers, al 104s, short ram intake, optima red top, 8mm accell wires. The car is running real strong, so would scanning really be the only way 2 know? This is the 1st time i own a gtp. Next weeek im gonna try 2 get a 3 inch downpipe or atleast a 3 inch u bend delete. Any good info out there 4 me?

    if you listen real close, it sounds like popcorn, but you have to listen REALLY hard or be knocking a lot. just buy a scanner.

    Thanks man, ill keep an ear out until i can get a scanner. I know its not knocking tho, it sounds like it always has b4 i did anything 2 it. But anyway my next 3 steps is headers, 3 inch downpipe with u bend delete and a tuned pcm. I know then i should be good when it comes 2 kr. Thanks again,

    with headers, you dont need a downpipe. the downpipe only fits with manifolds, which is what the stock exhaust has. the headers will go straight from the block to the cat back, or in fron of the cat, i dont really remember. if you want a downpipe, get a PLOG also

    get them uncoated, i heard the coating is crap anyway. either both of those or headers.

    I can almost guarantee you are getting knock. I use my predator that I use to program my avalanche to run live data monitoring on my GP. Before I got headers I had a 3" DP and PLOG and would get almost 5 degrees of knock. Thats why I changed to headers.
    3.6", 3" Downpipe, K&N CAI, 104's, PRJ Tune, P-Log, 180 t-stat,Res delete, wideband, boost gauge. 14.11" @ 99.5

    THANKS. IM GETTING A CUSTOM 3 INCH CATLESS DOWNPIPE MADE ON THURSDAY. IVE BEEN DRIVING THE CAR PRETTY SLOW, NOT GETTING IN2 BOOST OR ANYTHING. NEXT MONTH IM GONNA GO 4 THE ZZP 1.0 PCM, CANT AFFORD IT RITE NOW. BUT IT SHOULD HELP GET RID OF THE KNOCK IF NOT HELP ALOT. THANKS 4 THE INFO. ITS JUS THAT THIS IS THE 1ST GTP IVE EVER OWNED AND DIDNT KNOW MUCH BOUT IT. I USED 2 BE A RICER OR IN2 TURBOS. I HAD A 12 SEC 1/4 MILE WRX. BUT OF COURSE:
    NEED I SAY MORE.
