My first GP was the 1984 Grand Prix my parents bought back when I was in junior high. I only got to drive it once, when I got the keys to it at church, started it up, and put it in gear. Scared me half to death how quick it moved.

Anyway, my first 3800 was an '00 Impala LS. That was supposed to become my daily driver a few years ago until my wife was in an accident and it was totaled. I got a Ford Escape to replace my driver, as I thought that's what I wanted.

I was rear ended last year, and my Escape was totaled. My itching for another Impala was realized when two days after the accident I bought an '04 Impala SS. I've modded it pretty well, more or less going as far as I can before having to replace internal engine parts. My daily commute is almost 100 miles round trip, and I don't want to put the miles on the Imp, especially with all its mods.

So two weeks ago, I took a chance on an eBay '00 GP GT, and won. Now I just have to fix all the things that go along with buying a used car! I don't want to mod it out too much, as it will be my daily driver. I've already replaced the thermostat, as that was the one SERVICE ENGINE SOON code that was on when my wife drove it back. I've got a K&N CAI on the way as well. And hopefully the problem with the brakes I have is just that new brakes and a good bleeding are needed... In another post elsewhere, I'll ask for ideas on what to mod with a budget I've given myself. I'm sure I'll stick with it.
