Hi everyone. I'm Janine, I'm 24, and I live in Hawaii. I have an '05 GT with which I have a love/hate relationship. I'm looking to fix it up since it's probably not going to be sold for a while. (Stupid recession.) It has a whole crazy slew of problems. You'll notice that a few are my own dumb fault...

    1. CD player spits the CDs back out after me, whether they are burned or store bought.
    2. The right half of the radio backlighting is out behid the buttons.
    3. The right half of the LCD radio display is out.
    4. Sometimes I start the car and no matter how long I hold that key in the start position the engine still fails to "catch" and idle.
    5. The front windows are starting to take forever to roll up.
    6. The hood is permanently stuck in the unlatched position (like when you pop it but don't push down the latch release). I got into a couple fender benders and now the front is sort of smooshed in a little. It bent the top part of that whole latching system forward. Now only my tiny little fingers can get in there to unlatch it.
    7. I need new floormats. Don't ask me how I managed to lose them, but I did.
    8. I need new tires.
    9. I ran into my car with a Uhaul. In my defense, it was a narrow road on a hill with parked cars lining both sides. I'm just lucky I didn't hit anyone else. I have some major scrapes that I need to get out before they rust in this Hawaiian salt air.
    10. The HUD keeps on telling me that I'm out of washer fluid, I need an oil change, and my tire pressure is low despite all my efforts to correct these. I conclude that the HUD's mother dropped it on it's head when it was a baby.

So that about covers it. I'm going to do as much work as I can with the help of the trusty internet and my boyfriend to provide muscle when needed. In the process I'll learn more about my car and how to fend for myself in the auto world. Hey, that's why I can change my own oil now.
