Hi all. I’m happy to be back under the hood and (hopefully soon) back behind the wheel of my 05 CompG. I’ve been a member of Grand Prix clubs and forums since 2000 whenI got my second gp. Life took some funny turns. I moved up to the sticks, got a pickup, and got into hunting and shooting sports. While my 05 was still in my life, it was sidelined. Still loved the car too much to sell it but didn’t feel like wrenching on it. So along comes my son, back to live with us. My car ended up in the driveway and all his worldly possessions ended up in the garage. 4 years, 1 pandemic, and a nasty case of Covid later, I managed to get his stuff out and my car back in. The Covid left me with a tremor that takes all the fun out of pistol and archery so I began pouring my energy back into my gp. It is 18 years old, has 36,000 on the clock and not a lick of rust on the body. Still, it needs a lot of love. Now it is my project. I get down to the garage to clear my head like when I used to go to the range. There’s tons to do since I want to upgrade everything that needs replacing. I’m glad to have found that a forum still exists for our cars. Nice to meet you all.

You have an 05 with 36K on it and minimal rust??? Holy crap. Talk about rare, lol. Sounds like a great project. Post up some pics when you get a chance.

Luckily there are still some upgrades out there for these cars so should be no problem getting it back into shape.

i can relate to clearing your head. actually, i think quite a few here can.
some sit and go,"ooooohhhhhmmmmmm.." to clear their head.
real men get their hands dirty, make noise, and in some cases( like i do when i get in my shop and fire up the woodworking tools) dust
sometimes while listening to the relaxing music of...ohhhh...... metallica. maybe zeppelin. could be hendrix. could even be cash, waylon, or toby.
    definatly not mozart.
if thats been sittin for a while, id strongly suggest thinking about gettin her some fresh fuel.
