I'm looking to getting this beast running like my older muscle cars (69' SS Chevelle, 70' Challenger 440, 72 Nova SS 462 Buick GS motor, etc.) ......Looking at a 5.7 LS motor for transplant!

So you're on the lookout for a newer GTO then?
Welcome Jammonz! Where at in Misery? I'm new to the GP world down here in Raytown (South Kansas City) MO. Not a whole lot of us KC members left! Good luck on your project. Always willing to lend a hand on cool projects!![]()
Hello, I'm in St. Loser Misery.
So you're looking into putting a 5.7L in a 99 GP? I think your biggest problem will be finding a Transmission to hold up to it.
Since I got the car cheap enough, it may be a major build, LOL! I'm thinking cutting for mid-engine, tubed framework, etc. and a friend that owes me has the LS1 and its a babied 28k motor from a Camaro (forgot the year) I have always wanted to do this.....I shoe-horned a 70' SS 396 and Muncie into a 79' Challenger once! Had to pound and cut a lot of firewall, but it fit and ran well......only couldn't use first gear because of the final gearing at 5:10 ratio with the 4 speed.......wife drove it once and we were cruising 30 mph in 4th and able to open the secondaries on the old holley 650!! Sold it before I started to get a pile of speeding tickets. LOL!!!
BTW: I'm in the SW area of MO called Carthage........Butcherland (commonly known as Precious Moments) is out in the boonies!!

KC here.
I wouldn't even bother with an LS WBody.
Been there; done that.
Get a 3800 for it or buy a RWD FBody/C5/V/GTO.
There just happens to be 2 of the GTO's in town.......I keep telling my buddies to go try to run one of them. I test drove one back the first year and they were squirrely on the road with NO traction what so ever! I guess they got better because I raced one with my 72' Nova 462 ci and it took all my pedal to beat him on the 1/8th.....quick suckers in my opinion! I cannot get either one to sell or trade me at all!
The 3800 in it now has a bunch of tricks done to it with headers, etc. head work (don't know how much) and a crossover pipe for equalization with racing cats. Goes pretty quick for a 98' and I think mainly.....after a few hours of debate with myself....that I'll probably be buying my neighbors 55 chevy p'up anyway!!!! LOL!! Too much iron around here!
