hello everyone this is my first post on this forum my name is Nick and i live in Iowa around the Iowa city area so I've been looking to get a new car and i found a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix gt with the supercharged 3.8 it only has 80000 miles and is pretty clean the guy wants 4500 for it. its the only car ive found that I've actually liked and i'm new to the whole Pontiac thing and just wondering if this is a good price for this car and if these cars have anything that i should look out for when i go to look at it. i appreciate any advice and knowledge that anyone is willing to give. thank you.

    http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...ommon-problems same stuff applies.

rust will be your biggest issue so look for it.

price dont seem all that bad. check kbb for its value in your area.

speed daddy headers, a 3.4 pulley and a tune will get you there.

no need to give zzp all your money. used is just as good and cheaper. i dont have a new mod on my car anywhere, but the meth kit, bought that new.

best bang for the buck if you dont have e85 local, is meth injection.

Iowa City should have E85. buy a tuner, put some bigger injectors on that thing and make 50 more hp, will also need a smaller pulley. with E85 you might be able to get away with a 3.4.

Some zzp stuff you can source for less for the same or very similar items. Their sway bars and brake upgrades are good examples, especially used.

Service the transmission before you put a bunch into the engine. $100 for a fluid drop/filter and transgo shift kit is the preventative standard.

Personally, I did that 1st, then brakes, then suspension, etc. Everyone has their own route. Good luck starting your build, man. Welcome.
