On Saturday I picked up my 2004 GTP CompG, and I'm working on making sure it's tuned up and all caught up on maintenance.

    100,000km/60,000miles

    What's been done so far:
    - New tires
    - New brakes & calipers & lines
    - New battery
    - Engine oil + filter
    - Seafoam (gas tank only)
    - Light TB cleaning
    - Air filter

    To do:
    - Transmission fluid + filter + shift kit + magnets
    - Spark plugs, wires, coils
    - S/C oil
    - Fuel filter
    - PCV valve check/replace
    - Suggestions?

After these tasks, I want to make the car as durable and reliable as possible, more so engine & transmission wise (without going as far as rebuilding the transmission out of diamonds ofcourse ).

What are the best mods/replacements to do this sort of thing?

I've heard a little about LIM's and transmission fluid coolers, but I'm having difficulty finding more info on these topics.

My coolant elbows appear to be fine but I'm going to look into doing those as well.

    All ideas and suggestions appreciated

I wouldn't worry about changing the coils or the supercharger oil, they don't go bad, it is a good idea to verify the proper amount of supercharger oil. you can tell if you need to change your lim gaskets and/or supercharger gasket because your car will either use coolant and/or you will see coolant in the valleys of the lim.

The coils is more due to a light misfire that I think is caused by one of them. It got way worse for a little bit after I had spilled some water near them so I think one is cracked. Although I do have more laying around but they are pretty old.

Didn't know about the supercharger oil. The info I read suggested every 30,000 miles, but everyone I've talked to about it has never even heard of changing the fluid in them before.

Yeah, I wouldn't change the oil. It doesn't help anything.

Most cars don't need a trans cooler, but if you have a way to monitor temps, you can see if yours does.

Just saw you're in Ontario....highly doubt you'll need a cooler way up there.

All three GTP's I've owned, the oil was low. Since I had to buy one bottle of oil, I went and did an odd thing; I sucked out the coffee-looking crap that was left and put 2 new bottles in.

It's like $12 for piece of mind. I believe GM says it's 100,000 mile interval in the owners manual.

GM says check/fill every 30K. I'd say if it's gone more than 70k on the original oil, change it. It's so cheap and no trouble at all.
