Hi everyone, just decided to buy a 06 grand prix with 120k mile. I test-drove it before, runs smoothly. Is there any specific common problem that I have to pay attention to?
Thank you. Very glad to be one of the family.

Welcome. Plenty of knowledge on here. If you don't know the last time the trans fluid was changed then I'd drop the pan, install a trans-go shift kit, change the filter and refill with new fluid. At 120K I'd think about changing the plugs/wires (if they are original), remove and clean the throttle body (the drive by wire ones like to cause issues when they get dirty). Other than that maybe new struts if original, and check the front end for any loose bits (tie-rods, sway links, etc.) Just normal maint stuff.

Add to that, a coolant flush/swap if it still has orange Dexcool. Check air filter, serpentine belt, radiator & heater hoses. Clean MAF (mass airflow) sensor with CRC MAF cleaner (super easy, maf is between air filter & throttle body, just spray it), all of these are low $$ things...Oh, and Welcome...Enjoy...good luck....E.
For the record : I am NOT a naked meth-head who shoves rocks up my butt.
