Well finally noticed a little bit of coolant leak, had it checked and its the LIM gasket, will also need my control arms replaced, noticed my alignment going a bit right (Car can keep straight during hard braking/acceleration) but also noticed the steering turned slightest at the right. Had an offer given to me for $1,200 to replace both control arms as well as the LIM gasket. I'd do both myself but I have neither the equipment or knowledge to do the job. So im wondering, is this a fair price?

ive seen guys come in with 5 and 600$ quotes for lim jobs, seems like a huge rip off really.

lca's no idea what they want, but say its 700, thats just retarded, even with an alignment included.

i say you buckle down, do the lim job yourself for the cost of gaskets 50 ish with coolant. then change your own lca's they run about 100 a pair shipped, then drop it off for an alignment.

so 150 maybe for parts, and anther hundo for the alignment shop sounds a lot cheaper to me. theres youtube vids, you need no special tools really.

I had a 1,200 quote for lower ball joints and wheel bearings.
When I first bought my regal the dealer replaced the ball koint on the control arm
by air chiseling it out and crudely installing new ones
when I took it for an alignment months later the place said I needed $1,200 of work lmao
i bought new arms for $100 pair and was done in 2 hours
