my 2004 grand prix just started to act up on us. we drove to the grocery store parked and about an hour or so later came out to a car that wouldn't start. It started with a boost but as soon as we put in drive and pressed the gas to go it stalled out again...we then boosted again and left the cables on to charge it up a bit. but still would not start.. we left it in the lot and my husband and a friend went back later to see what they could do with it. well didn't the darn car start right up so my husband drove it back to the area we live (about 15kms) before it decided to stall out again, he was able to get it started again only to stall out pulling into our driveway. We replaced the battery and that did not solve anything. we had the alternator tested and it was working fine. We had it towed to our mechanic who replace the MAFS and the main computer board. Niether of which solved the issue and he had no clue to what was wrong...hmm. We took it out of the garage and I drove it (15KM) all the way home with no issues. We first thoght it was doing this stalling no starting when the engine would heat up, but not the case sometimes it would and other times not. It does however stall out when the gas is pushed and the rpms reach higher than 2500K. I am thinking it has to so with the fuel system somewhere but want some other opions please.

It would be worthwhile to check fuel pressure, even tape the fuel pressure gauge to the windshield while driving and see if the fuel pump can keep up. If pressure is going down or is really low to begin with, then you may have found the issue.

how would I fix this issue. I called the auto parts store looking for a fuel pressure sensor and they told me there wasn't one showing?

There is no fuel pressure sensor on these cars, so they are right.

If fuel pressure was low and that was the problem, you'd have to buy a new fuel pump itself and change the fuel filter. I can't say for sure that this is the problem, it's just something I would be doing as a diagnostic check.
