Hey guys , so I plan to pick up a 2005 GP GXP of a friend of mine as he bought himself a slingshot and wants to part ways with his GXP, all it needs is new tires, battery, brakes, and windshield

Car only has 90,000kms (56,000 miles)
Price I'm getting it for is only $2800 USD
Has factory dual climate factory navigation

No accidents no claims at all clean title.

    What do you guys think?

That's a really good deal price wise. I would go for it!

maybe a bit more really, but that price plus what it needs your still way in the green side of things.

and the body and seats look to be in pretty good shape.

If you live in canada the prices may be different. A good running low mileage GXP can get 7-9k here in Minnesota still depending on year.

Looks like someone made a custom hood for it too, unless someone sells a G8 looking hood for the Grand Prix GXP's now.

GM designed the car to have 18X8 fronts and 18X7 rear wheels for handling reasons. You can run 245/45/18's all around but the rear rims on the front will look really goofy because of a different size rim and huge change in wheel offset. Like said most buy 2 more 18X8 rims.

Overall great cars with the typical grand prix problems still but with lower mileage nothing "should" pop up for a little while yet.

I am pretty sure it's a regular G8 hood... I don't know how fitment is though.

That hood was custom made, that guys dad owns a body shop and made it.

I'd have to find the thread though.

You're right. The G8 hood is weird around the grills.

The OP's hood looks like it has longer pockets than the one I post. May also be custom.

So are you saying I should either keep stock tires on it with the rims it has ? And only way to run all same tires all around is to run same width rim?

You can run the same size tires on the 18X7 rears, it's just that rotating the rear rims to the front isn't the best option because of the large difference in rim offset.

Get non directional tires and you can still rotate side to side atleast.

What tire size you recommend for same size all around?
