hello guy and gals. im john gillespie. 08 pontiac gp gxp. 117,000 miles. bought the car a month or so ago, love it. had the mundane issues like lights staying on\ coming on by themselves and the abs solenoid trying to fight me braking, but all in all, an enjoyable ride.
Ok, the good stuff, so far ive put bilstein struts and canuck motorsports springs up front. canuck rears. I have a CAI intake lost in the mail. gonna do a full 3" exhaust through magnaflows, factory dual exit and cat and reso delete. Tune. ill enjoy it like this for the winter, my springtime plans are, ls6 intake, ls2 throttle body, ls7 MAF, thorley headers, cam, tune again, and hopefully some kind of 12's. im ditching the DOD, and ill sort the transmission out as i run into issues. any questions and suggestions are readily received as i am not easily offended, and im a mature adult. not looking for drama or a fight. looking for buddies and sharing of info. thanks in advance.

    Welcome John!

It looks like you've already got a good mod list going. Triple Edge Performance makes some really solid transmissions if you're looking for something that will last.

Hello! im pretty sure a tranny is in my future. also, does my list seem accurate? these are older obsolete cars, and oddballs at that, so far all ive found are ten year old posts and the aforementioned combo for the best N\A power. theres turbo and bottle, but im stubborn and want to keep it all motor..

Yeah, your list seems to be well put together. I really wouldn't change anything with it. The LS motors all pretty much like the same stuff from 1999-present, so the old information is still good.

Not to push you away from us, but you may also want to check out LS1tech if you haven't already. There's a lot of great info there, and I think more of the GXP guys are regulars over there, since most on this forum are driving 3800s.

ive gotten alot of good info over there, but im not the forum type, so if i were to choose a forum to join, its this one. the 243 heads on the ls4 are good, its just everything else is choked down. it sux cuz gm coulda done better form the factory, but the fun in owning one of these is the building part anyway, so......
im a hot rodder. do most of the work myself, so its a real hands on deal. im looking forward to the challenge. how realistic are 12s in my car?

    Good forum choice!

The GXPs seem to be about 13.8-14.2 stock. With what you want to do, I don't see a problem getting into the mid to low 12s.
