    Hi, everyone!
I just picked up a free 2006 GXP from my niece... actually traded a TV that I got for free for it!
I knew the previous owner who took great care of it but unfortunately my niece did not!

It runs great... BUT it has the following issues:

Steering is SERIOUSLY messed up... not sure if rack or suspension problem... UNSAFE!!!
    Needs ignition switch
    Needs right rear window regulator
    AC doesn't work
Drivers side floor gets wet when rains
    Leather upholstery needs help

    The good:

    Strong motor
    Trans rebuilt by first owner
Exterior is BEAUTIFUL...no dings or dents!
...and the fact that it was FREE!

I will be searching the forum for fixes... all advice is appreciated!!!

Ignition has an active recall, safercar.gov check the vin.

From what I've seen the steering is a known thing. I just purchased a GXP and the dealership is replacing End links, knuckles, entire steering rack half shafts etc.

How does the AC not work? Is it not blowing cold or is does it not turn on at all? Outdoor temp sensor is known to go bad an iirc below certain temps the AC won't work.

Where does the drivers floor get wet? Sound like either the weather stripping for the window or door isn't functioning any longer.

Beyond that welcome to the forums I'm sure someone with more expertise can help with more in depth fixes/ your other issues.

    Thanks for the input!

My ignition switch isn't the recall issue... the electrical switch itself is bad! you have crank the key back and forth a few time before the car will start.
When it does start, there may or may not be power to the dash!
The AC compressor doesn't kick on... I haven't tried to trouble shoot yet!
The drivers floor board seems to be getting wet from the front... maybe a leak at the cowl...?

he said driver side floor. not pass side, 04 up should have the cowl part installed already from the factory.

i think you got the antenna up there by the windshield dont you? iirc that can leak.

the key deal. that sounds a lot like a bad ignition harness.

Whats up with the steering. Leak, pull, vibrations, noise?

I'm slowly putting my '06 GP GXP back in order too. I just installed a right rear window regulator a few days ago, cost me about $50.

Thanks for all the good info!

The steering has tons of slack and can suddenly veer right without turning the wheel! Scary!!!

you can jack up each wheel and push and pull the tire at 3 and 9. if you feel play thats a tie rod, most of the time its the outer rod end, some times its the inner.
