Good Morning - New to the forum - y'all have an awesome forum here .. I just purchased a 2004 Grand Prix GTP with 91K miles that is stone stock from the original purchaser of the car in 2004. I have moved to a new job that added an additional 20 miles to my work commute which made me look for a more economical yet fun car to drive. In my search I looked at many cars - I currently have a 1998 Lexus LS400 which was my daily driver but at 191K miles I decided I needed something a little more economical to drive since timing belt service and its MPG and service costs can be a little over the top at times. I am keeping the LS400 but now it will be a good second vehicle to have. Being a long time Pontiac owner from many years ago - Trans AM GTAs (yea I know..) and still having my 1981 Pontiac Bonneville I purchased new back in the day... I gravitated toward the 2004 to 2008 GP and Bonneville as my target vehicle. It took two months to find this particular car as .. man .. there are number of the cars out there for sale but most seem to be in sad shape... however - found this one from a private seller - interior is like brand new, exterior has maybe two dings on the passenger side door, paint is 8 out of 10 and the overall mechanical condition is 9 out of 10 being that the owner always had it serviced at the local dealer on a regular schedule. And it is stone stock .. no mods. The only thing that is not operating as it should - is that the Monsoon 6 Disk CD changer is not operating - as it will not eject any CDs. the owner said it quit ejecting the CDs and he left it as is. Other than that - everything functions excellent as it should. I checked the coolant and oil.. very good condition - as I had read on this forum and other sites about the intake gaskets could fail and one day more than likely will fail. However so far - all is good. I will keep an eye on that area of the motor. I do plan to leave it stock.. the car drives excellent, is actually fun to drive to work and back..I look forward to driving to work in the morning.. my commute is fun as the engine with the supercharger has a quite an acceleration punch to move in and out of traffic easily enough. I am impressed with the engine. Being used to rear wheel drive cars - the front wheel drive characteristics - I am learning. I appreciate the forum and am very happy with the car - it is a pleasure to drive. If there are any links to the history of the concept and the development of the 2004 to 2008 GPs ..I would appreciate it.

    Welcome.

They might be threads on the concepts somewhere but I know some are on google that people have found.

My only advise is more paragraphs , and to make sure you always use premium fuel with these cars.
