I have a 97 GTP in fair condition with a rapping, possible knock on one cyl that sometimes goes away at idle. I'm in a terrible financial situation, lost my job due to spinal injuries, physically crippled but no disability or unemployment payments, so my body can't manage the labor and I can't afford to pay someone else to fix it.

It started suddenly, about 1000 miles after I got it and it was never driven once the noise started. Rust rockers, torn drivers seat, but it ran great until then. It's rough cosmetically but everything else works AFAIK except one passenger side window and it has several new parts like both front hub assemblies and a freshly rebuild Gen 3 M90. I also have a spare rebuild M90. Clean title of course. In SE Iowa.

Am I better off trying to find a buyer here who can fix it or part it out? Try to sell some parts and scrap the rest? I'm guessing a salvaged yard won't offer more than $200 scrap based on weight alone. I just want to get what I have in it already.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Idk how prices are around there, but here I would kill to get $200 for a car at the scrapper. I scraped my 97 minus engine and trans and got $105.
