Yes, Great write up. This will be useful since I just acquired white faced gauges for 2002 GP, and also got the carbon fiber gauge bezel for 2001 GP. Plan to install LED's in cluster (in an older GTP that I scrapped, the heat from the OEM 194 bulbs caused problems with the printed circuit on back of gauge cluster, and there was no way to repair).
LED's give off very little heat.
About removing the red film, I am going to attempt to remove the red film on the old gauge cluster to see results.
Going to try different color bulbs also.
Any word from Diode Dynamics when they are releasing more products?

Very unique design, and they are non-polar, so you don't have to guess and check

(perfect for gauges, which can be annoying to test)

Update on these? I'm interested. I'd like to do LED's.

Im impressed.. I have done mine twice with 2 different style bulbs and they have both had like a 40% failure rate. I NEED to find some that wont go out and die on me.

Nick how is the 360 degree light dispersal from the sides of the HP3?

That's what makes the HP3 special. It does an excellent job dispersing the light evenly

If you don't find them bright enough, we also offer the HP5's which are twice as bright as the HP3

Google tells me 194's are about 25 lumens. Hp3's are over double that. Should be plenty bright

Nice. I ordered a back up set of HP3's for myself when these others go out.
