Haha yeah, still it's funny though. What are the chances I'll break the glass? I didn't see any type of adhesive in the pictures, but he never showed the backside of the glass. I can use a hair drier or carefully use a heat gun to help get it off, if pulling on it is literally the way to separate it.

It was just a sticker that I got for it. They were 2 for $7.99 I think. Put one on my car and one on my dads Monte Carlo SS

There are 4 adhesion pads on the back of the mirror glass. I believed that I used a heat gun and then put my finger nails in between the mirror glass and the plastic surround and then pushed through the holes on the back with my thumbs. If you take your time and are careful enough with it they should just pop off.

I would suggest doing the single row of leds. I thought about the sequential 3 rows of leds but I believe you would need a constant power source for those. The ones right against the back of the glass like you are looking at should be great. You should be able to glue the leds to the black mirror backing and then drill a hole to run the wire out. Then you should be able to just re glue (or some other method if you prefer) the mirror glass over top.

Alright, sounds simple enough. I don't have a preferred method to get the glass onto the backing plate. I want to use something like the factory did in case I need to open it up again. If I use epoxy, it's not coming off again. You mentioned silicone adhesive or something. I have regular silicone sealer, are they the same thing?

When I did the ones on my T-Bird, I went thru 3 or 4 pieces of glass; from taking the mirror on and off to many times and being too manly. I don't plan on going through that again. LOL

I have a spare GP mirror, and the glass was easily separated from the backing. The backing has lots of holes in it, so that helps.

I think what I used was Permetex silicone sealer. Not sure 100% but it was clear and Permatex made it and it was silicone. Whether it was called adhesive or sealer I cant recall. I used it to seal up the headlights on my car too after I pulled them apart and they've been holding together for 8+ months. Mirror glass is still in solid so that should work good for that if you let it fully dry before driving it. I just let mine dry overnight.

    This is what I have

I used it to seal my headlights too. Apparently they do make a silicone adhesive, so I will go buy that to make sure I don't lose my mirror lol. Thanks.

Anything like that is perfect. All the ones I've pulled looked to be something that was a clear silicone type.

One more question, the LED's you used as the puddle lights, they were the "doubly density" led strips right? I ordered the 300 led strips for other things, but the 600 LED's would be brighter. I ordered these but they sent the wrong one... http://www.amazon.com/MuchBuy-Flexib...=led+strip+600

I got another 300 from them.

I used LEDs from a 600 LED cool white roll. That allowed for me to get 6 LEDs on the underside of the mirror. To be honest you might be able to get by with fewer though.

New links posted for others that expired. Now for an update on how mine are doing. The turn signals (both front facing and rear facing) still work. The puddles on the bottoms of the mirrors are still working. The logo projectors in the door (which weren't exactly apart of the project) have faded meaning the the image is no longer as clear and colorful as it once was. What can you expect from cheap ones I guess? Anyway just thought that I'd let everyone know how they are holding up and update the links for those who want to try to do this over the winter.

Haha over the winter? I'm not going out in the 5°F weather lol. Thanks for the update, I'm still going to do this once it warms up, I've got all the stuff I need besides good weather.

Also I can't find the "objects in mirror are losing" sticker thats just like yours on ebay. The ones on there are too bold and don't look like the actual text that's on the passenger mirror. They look obviously added

Some people have heated garages, some people do stuff in thier house, and others live where the weather is nicer. lol. Be glad its 5 degrees. I think its still -15 or close to that here.

As far as the sticker, I cant remember where I got that from. Part of me wants to say Reflective Concepts and part of me says it was something off of ebay. I may have stated it before. I cant recall. lol
