did the pan drain out the corner of it? if so theres some more in side, hold the pan up, remove the bolts, lower the pan as level as you can, then dump it into the drain pan.

Wowzers..pan off. Bolts that broke are not gonna be easy to get out at all.

is drill and extractor time for sure. or them reverse bits do work too.

No reverse drill bits. This sucks haha I bought an extractor but it didnt come with a drill bit so I gotta go get a new one tommorow. What size should I look for?

How did you manage that one, before I remove or tighten any bolt I always double check that my ratchet is going the correct way. Righty tighty lefty loosy.

on the package the extractor comes in it will say what size bit to use.

So just to be clear before I reinstall accumulator, piston with the thinner top spring has only the 2 springs below (which rattles when you shake accumulator ) goes closer to where the 3 lines enter?

You should be able to tell if you look closely at the picture in the instructions. I got confused too when I did it.

Yeah I just cant tell which top spring is larger in the instructions. I think 1-2 is closer to the 3 lines, with the smaller spring on top and only the 2 springs on bottom.

The 1-2 accumulator gets 2 springs. Its stamped 1-2 right on the accumulator so you shouldn't mess it up. And yes the 1-2 is also next to where the lines go.

Ok can you assure me that the 1-2 is the one with the thinner spring on top?

Why? Did you mix the pistons up? I don't remember the springs being different. You'll have to search around or look at my pictures, I'm not sure it would matter.

Well I didnt realize that they were different till now, so just wanna make sure I have it right.

Do you see paint on the springs? I'm my pictures you can see one is red* and the other is white

I verified with your picture...you can tell the 2-3 has much larger coils.

Great write-up! Just to add a bit, I went from the DIY shift kit to the Transgo kit, and ended up doing a mixture of both. I ended up leaving the 2-3 spring in the 1-2 accumulator, left the "top" 1\2" spacer on the top of the 1-2 accumulator, and put 3 springs in both of the accumulators. At the end of the day, both the 1-2 and 2-3 accumulators were the same...with the exception that the top spacer on the 2-3 accumulator is .053" and the spacer on the 1-2 accumulator was .050".

I did this around a month ago and reset my TAP's when I installed it, and so far I love it. It's had plenty of time to learn the new shifting behavior, and it shows. Very crisp shifts, that don't break your neck. I've always wanted my transmission to shift from 1-2 like it does from 2-3, and I think this is as close as I can get, really. I'd recommend doing this mixture, if you want the 1-2 a little quicker and maybe a little more firm. Like I said, it's nothing crazy and still VERY drivable. My mother in law just bought a 1999 GP GT with 171k on it, and it shifts like CRAP compared to mine. It doesn't shift bad like there is a problem with it, I just forgot how sloppy the 4t65e is in stock form, lol.
