For those interested or current doing diy coilovers, some might not be able to set their mounts on fire so an alternative. Place mounts in oven and bake for +-10 minutes KEEP AN EYE ON THEM! use a flathead screw driver And the top portion will Peel off the Metal then use a hammer and the whole rubber portion willcome out with a couple of whacks with a hammer.

That's exactly what I did. Although instead of using an oven mine involved a torch lol

Are you welding the washers on top?

Yea I'm thinking of just welding a Flat piece of steel instead of using the typical washers

So far it does, even with the adjustable Konis, but I've got them about as far as they'll go. I'm going to be doing a little more work to get some more clearance.

Yea that's what my issue is instead of that setup I'd rather just have it flat with the mount

dude... that's brilliant. Now you just need to incorporate a pillow mount bearing and it'll be perfect. The reason they have the rubber is to allow the shock to articulate when it's compressed. When compressed, the shock swings out a bit, not just straight up, so it needs a hair of movement to do this. Otherwise I believe the rod will bend over time.

I've got some poly bushings in there to give the strut some movement

Not trying to sound like a dick but how many strut shaft have been bent? Given that the strut shaft is compressed anyway I can't see how the hell there's enough force to bend a strut shaft.

you'd probably see it in the seals on the strut way, way before you noticed that the shaft itself was bent.

Probably but I think the likeleyhood is slim with the shaft being compressed during maneuvering
