we should replace these threads with yours to reduce redundancy.
Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement [*]
Great write up! Had to replace my seal. Took me 20 minutes and a 15 dollar seal. When the dealer wanted to charge $175! Glad I got directed to this post. I have a Kobalt portable impact and it took the bolt right out.

couldn't figure out what ghost, my car has a ghost also, sudden very brief deceleration, any relation to yours ?

Hello, I'm new to the forum. I was trying to get some info on replacing my crank position sensor. I found but the click here takes me to a error page, can anyone help?

Exactly.
One quick blap of the impact is around 100-130 for mine, you'd have to have a high powered impact ot hit 300 ft lbs and be hammering on it lol.
Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement [*]
The nut that holds the balancer on; does it undo clockwise or anti-clockwise?
Got a local garage going to replace my sensor and they asked me to find out, as they have never worked on a Pontiac before!
Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement [*]
counter clockwise.. it's a bolt.
Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement [*]
ok this begs me to ask this but why does it take 3 pages to answer this?
just wondering
Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement [*]
Thanks BillBoost37!
Damn mechanics from 2 different garages have declined to fix my car despite the fact I have the part, and info from this forum to replace it. Got a 3rd garage looking at it next week, but will have to see how successful they are. Cost me a fortune on labour so far, and issue still not resolved!!!
