    Ok...question
I put the deflector piece on last month, and still a little water is getting in.
Any ideas where or how this is happening?

Time to start looking where the water is coming from. Or is it still coming from the HVAC case?

Ok, just a quick question. Is this new piece available through gm? Or is it being sold by a member.. I have an 03 gtp and haven't noticed any water, but why wait until it does leak. The reason I ask is because people are ordering these from the original poster..

Yes it is available through GM. It's about $4 at the dealer.

no one is ordering them from any one here. you search the part # thats given in the first post and buy it on line, amazon, ebay, or the dealer is not to bad on this part.

But yeah you can buy them lots of places with the p/n

Ordered my second one for my second Grand Prix after a hard rain left water on my passenger side. I had even more water on my drivers side floor. Checked and both sunroof drains are clear. I found water around the speaker cover on the drivers door.

Thanks for the great write up!

It is possible for the water to hang out somewhere. Then come out later? I did this mod open my car today's later and had tons of water. It seems to be coming from the motor.

pull the pass side carpet back and run a hose over the roof down the windshield to the cowl. see if it leaks inside.

Glad I found this forum! Just replaced a 1995 Bonneville with a 2004 Grand Prix, and I had plenty of water issues with the Bonneville. I want to avoid that with the Grand Prix, and when I take it in to get some other service work done I'll ask the dealership to install this water deflector (part # 15794785). Looks like it would be easy to do myself, but since I'm going to have it in anyway, I don't mind paying them to get it taken care of.

You're going to pay $80 to install that part? They're going to charge your an hour of labor. Find someone from the forums to help you install it.

It doesn't even look that hard. Or if you want, RTV the towel to the windshield itself and you won't have to remove anything.

I checked my 06, and this water deflector was already there. Not sure if it was installed or came from the factory with it.

Thanks for the write up Abrasive.
Installed the updated deflector in my 03 GP GT this morning. Quick and easy to do.
04 and up should already have this installed.

The part was $4.95 at my dealership. Took less time to install than it did to drive to town and pick it up. I also found out that there was already a cabin air filter in my red GT. This weekend the gold GTP will be getting the same treatment.

It was funny at the dealership: the parts guy said he's never seen a GM part that size go for so little money. (Neither have I!).

OH, I don't see where anyone posted the part number for the cabin air filter. I used Fram CF8392A on my '00 GT.

Okay, so I know the last post in this thread was from 2016, but I'm buying a 98 GTP that the owner says has the water leak issue. I checked the part # on line for current price and availability and this part is now $50-$65! Can someone please advise what cars this deflector came in standard so I can search the junkyards for one?
