Re: Water in floorboard (Take 2) - The Permanent Fix
For free, I can't complain. I'd just have to hit a junk yard up for the part I have to cut. But I suspect it's going to fit. I might open up the GP and Impala this weekend park them so I can look at both. From what I can remember, I don't think it WON'T fit as the rubber deflector piece is the same GM number for both. Worst case, a little elbow grease might be needed to massage it into place. Lots of pictures, of course, when I do it!

I counted three of them for you.
Should hopefully have them ready to ship out by Thursday.
Here's what I have counted for GPF
2 for Deezul_Awt
1 for SyntheticShield
3 for Iron Indian
1 for chrisb
1 for 98gpgtp
1 for hockeymaniak88
9 total for here and I have at least three spoken for on our local boards. So, already short haha. I should have more the first part of next week, so no big deal. If anyone is on this list that doesn't want one, or want it yet, let me know. Once I get eyes on this first batch and make sure they are good to go, I will just PM each of you my PayPal info since this first batch is pretty much gone. Whatever is left out of the next batch, if any, I will post in the for sale section.
yep, I definitely need one. I have to leave towels on my floor to soak up the water leaks and everytime it rains it gets drenched. PM/email me (robdat88@hotmail.com) as soon as it's ready to ship!
Re: Water in floorboard (Take 2) - The Permanent Fix
Well, I will go ahead and post this up so I can get them out ASAP for those who are waiting on them.
My PayPal address is abrasiveposters@comcast.net
It's a business account so any type of payment is fine. The fees are on me.
2 for Deezul_Awt - $15 (1 free to test on Impala)
1 for SyntheticShield - $15
3 for Iron Indian - $35 ( I can ship them together)
1 for chrisb - $15
1 for 98gpgtp - $15
1 for hockeymaniak88 - $15
I will have the new deflectors this evening, so I could get them out as early as tomorrow (Thursday). Please don't forget to include your shipping address with your payments.
This probably goes without saying, but if for any reason something happens that I don't get these or there is something wrong with them that I can not ship them out as promised (which I highly doubt there will be any issues), I will refund 100% of your payments.

Re: Water in floorboard (Take 2) - The Permanent Fix
Got both mine today. I had the time to do it on the GP since I didn't have to take pictures or document it. :D Anyway, a few notes on installs on a 2000 GP.
1. If you have the one piece cover, you WILL have to remove it to cut off the rubber and plastic piece at the end. I know I was able to fix the old GM gasket without removing the entire piece or the wipers, but I'm not that good with a box cutter and pliers! This also means taking off the wipers themselves.
2. On my GP, there was also another piece of plastic that appeared to direct air into the blower. I had to remove it as well since it would have pushed the cover up too much.
It's nice and sunny, and the forecast for my area is nice and sunny for the next few days. But from a product standpoint and install standpoint, they are both excellent. Your pictures of the new deflector do not do it justice once you see it in person. I figured it would be a thin piece of plastic, but it's pretty thick and solid. I even banged the finger guide pretty good and thought it would break, but it did not. So far, a VERY happy customer!

I know exactly what piece you are talking about as of today. I put one of the new deflectors on Brian's 2000 GTP today and it also had the plastic piece you are describing. My 2002 did not have it, so that's why it's not in the write-up. Not sure exactly what that piece is for but it hooks onto the air intake itself. In my opinion, if your car was leaking water, having that piece would only make it worse by funnelling the water into the blower intake opening. We removed his and discarded it since this new piece pretty much replaces it as well. And like I said, my '02 didn't have it so I can only assume GM stopped using it for a reason, but who knows what.
I blasted directly under my cowl at the car wash yesterday at high pressure and not a single drop found it's way to the inside. Blasting it like that with the rubber bulb style deflector would have just blown water right in between it and the cowl.
Glad you are satisfied with it. Let me know how it works out on the Impala.
