Yeah great plan. Sorry about the misunderstanding with the amber turn signals, my 02' has me all confused. Well like i said I just bought a plasmaglow Fire and Ice tailgate bars. Heres a picture of what im talking about

It is able to be cut on either side, so I am really hopin it will fit under the decklid. It will give me turn signal, brake, and reverse light functionality.

haha ya like i said dont worry about it its kinda interesting how thing s change over a few years haha

measure it up and then plan on a little extra room for when you close the trunk that it wont interfere with/ hit any of the leds

I found one on eBay for like $2 and it was about as bright as the OP's. It didn't last very long and some of the SMD's pooped out. I then found one on eBay again for $4 with larger SMD's and it is just as bright as the $20 ones they have at AZ. At night its just as bright as any of the other brake lights and I love it. It's been several months now and everything is working great with it - I'm very pleased.

so what if you do hook it to the taillights themselves? will the whole thing flash when u use the turn signal? or only half of it? it would be cool if you could get each half to work for each side witht he turn signal

There is no blue, its white LED's for the reverse lights, the camera just makes it look blue because the Reverse lights are so warm.
