I haven't tried this yet, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I literally bought a new fob casing w/ rubber buttons off ebay for 6 bucks.... it works ridiculously a lot better and farther out now.

just because his nissan keyfob has a metal antenna module doesn't mean ours is

ours is the plastic one mentioned above. only way to so this mod would be to see if the range worked if you hit a solder point, but i highly doubt that

That gold square? I tried a bunch of combinations with no success. I think those quares are just to complete the circut for the battery because the middle of the bettery touches the black square and the little metal tab on the other piece of the fob touches that gold square. I may be wrong, but kinda done with trying this unless someone else does

Consider extending the antenna of the receiver instead of the fob.

Try an aftermarket keyless entry with 900 MHZ frequency.
They have amazing range without being in line of site.

On this particular keyfob, I am pretty sure the antenna is the printed circuit trace that runs around the outside of the board. In the picture, you can see one trace that has lots of holes in it. This would be the ground plane side. The other trace that comes out of the circuitry in the upper left side of the picture and runs around the perimeter of the board on the left side is the "hot" side of the antenna. These traces are "tuned" to the frequency of the transmitter and lengthening or shortening them would probably just "reduce" the range, not increase it since you would be de-tuning the antenna. In other words, put in a fresh battery and leave the transmitter alone. As someone else said, you might be able to increase the range if you could add a better antenna to the receiver but I don't even know where the receiver is located on the car....does anyone know?

Why do you give up so easily? BackinBlack talked about increasing the antenna on the receiver. I don't remember exactly what it was, but I think you had to measure the antenna, then lengthen it in multiples of 4 or something weird like that. Do some searching and find it.

    Per the video:

"Anyone with basic electronics knowledge knows

    1) That is a crystal and not the antenna

    2) Soldering to the crystal is a bad idea

    3) Soldering to the antenna would be a worse idea as it would detune it."
