First off, begin by filling a new/dry converter with 1-2 quarts of trans fluid. Give it a little time to seep into the converter. Sometimes spinning the converter on it's nose nubby will help.

I'd suggest doing it on the floor, so you don't have to fight slippery milkcrates.

I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

oh man, when i did my first build I was a noob.

I just took the flexplate, bolted it to the crank, bolted on a dry converter and then "mated" the trans to motor and away i went...

    lol

    Good battle!
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.
