Everything I have searched says this part can't be fixed, and simply needs to be replaced. Mine is also broken, but the motor works just fine. I am going to pull it out and see what if anything can be done with it.

When I press on the switch for my windows (3/4 of them) it just makes the window going up and down noise for a second or two, and then comes to a grinding sound. I have to push my windows up and down by hand, and I feel like my scenario is such that the motors are still good and the regulators are bad, any ideas?

regulators come with a new motor, so just buy new ones. the cable is binding up in the spool i bet. the cables like the shred and tangle up too.

I have tried motors and regulators and the only time I ever had any luck was when I bought a regulator that already had the motor attached

Yes just replace the whole thing and you should be good to go.

On another note, I am still not able to view the 'How To' pages--they just bring up a blank white screen. Is this a problem on my end, or are these not working on the site? Any idea if a fix is coming???

it works for me, and this thread is in the how to section.

if your looking at real old how to's most didnt make it to the new site format and are lost forever.

I am referring to the link in the original post (http://www.grandprixforums.net/windo...ator_cable.php)

There are a few others with similar links that I would like to view that also don't work. Are these part of those that are gone forever?

some one should make a new one when they do a regulator, its not to much work to snap a few pics along the way to help out the next guy.

i have a feeling ill be doing one sooner or later. pass font is super slow sometimes.

True--I should have thought of that when I did mine...

I also really wanted the how-to on the ABS light and the window switch/steering wheel button repair...

ive seen one not long ago for changing the bulbs in the switches.

try searching with google. type what your looking for, but put "Forum: grandprixforums.net" at the beginning of your search.

I just installed the perma-up mod on my back drivers side yesterday. When I hit the switch it makes noise for about 2 seconds and nothing happens. Unfortunately it was stuck in the down position. I opened up the door panel and was able to manipulate the switch and get the window up. Pushed down on the glass and it fell all the way to the bottom. Yes it is still on the track, unfortunately the track just slides up and down with no resistance. Its my dd so I couldnt leave it that way. When I get the part in to fix it maybe I can get some picks and do a how to just to have it on here.

yes i put a 1x4 in vertically and screwed one to it horizontally to keep it from tipping over. Have to lock it at work and it falls down if I hit a good bump.
