The trim piece goes all the way to the passenger side. Its all clips right? Just pull away from the windshield? Also what about the blinking led that's in the trim I don't want to break it while pulling the trim out.

I can just barely see mine enough to use it in the sunny day time. But at night or cloudy its pretty obviously there and i use it easily. Is mine dim?
also note I dont think my windshield is the proper type for HUD.

Yep, but be prepared to lose some clips. They pop off so easy. Most are retrievable with a magnet tool though. And it's the alarm and light sensor for your headlights. When you pop out the trim, it will be its on little thing that pops out of the trim, then you just twist out the sensors and leave em there; pull out and done.

I would say so. But from what I understand, even if you have a HUD and a factory windshield, later on in the production years they stopped screening the windshields for the reflectiveness? Point is, eventually the hud and non-hud cars got all the same windshields somewhere along the line so you might be included in that. I am. My hud you can see it but it appears closer up than the hud winshields, and if it's not really bright, it gets blurry.
Also, the soldering photocell fix didn't exactly work for me. But good luck!

I had to get a new windshield to pass inspection last year. I asked the technician about that and he said that my windshield had to be a special kind which is why it took them a couple days to get out to my house to do it he said they had to special order it. They originally quoted me 280 dollars for my windshield and then the guy came and did my windshield and gave me a bill for $350 but they had to take their original quote back that they gave me so I got the special windshield for $280 lol.

Right. See, I was confused rather or not you could even still get hud certified windshields or whatever. Glad to see we can.

Is it just the 2 screws up front to get the hud out?

Two screws and some metal push pins that are pretty stubborn.
