Whats your break down on price and parts? Have you noticed a difference in performance or sound? If s how much? Looks nice.

Have you noticed any ticking sounds after installation? I have a similar setup and think that the intake is causing/amplifying the sound.

The 4" to 3" coupler on the TB was from Lowe's. About $6. Filter, elbow, small connector with hole for IAT sensor all from Advance Auto. With $5 Speed Perk and an additional discount code all came to $43
More noise at cold start and wot. Installed a ZZP downpipe last night as well. Runs great. Plenty of pep for an

When the car is cold it makes a hell of a noise but smoothed out once you get moving or warmed up. Their is an AC port under my 45 elbow that would make a rattle/vibration after install. I put a small piece of rubber between the two and the noise is gone.

is the down pipe alone going to make a big difference without a complete exhaust system? Besides the cai what else have you changed or added?
Re: Simple Intake (pictures)
The cat back isn't making you lose power. The downpipe might make a 1 hp difference. The intake probably makes no difference in power.
BTW, here is my homemade intake.

That's about it besides routine stuff like plugs, wires, fuel filter, Mobile1, PVC, coolant flush. I only changed the cat back due to holes in the resonator and mufflers. Keep the stock cat back if yours is good.

Re: Simple Intake (pictures)
I wish it was. I'm getting the p0420 and the system running lean code. I'm in ca and am forced to pay around 5~600 for a legal one. Might have to go another route..
Re: Simple Intake (pictures)
p0420 is not caused by holes in the catback.
Re: Simple Intake (pictures)
I didn't read close enough I meant catalytic

Care to share your parts list, if you don't mind? Also, you have that (PCV??) hose connected in the back, right?

Check the 1st page.
Or scroll through it.
There are plenty of different setups with different parts to use.

Oh, I know blue, just that his setup is my favorite for 04+, I like the fact that it goes further out.
Re: Simple Intake (pictures)
I like this one more. In the fender. This write up includes a parts list. Its for 97-03 but I'm sure most of it translates over.

Yes the PCV is hooked up in the back on the intake. I extended the factory hose, then I drilled a hole and used a grommet and popped it into the intake where it fits just like stock.
I'll have to go back and see what I can find on my parts list since its been so long.
Re: Simple Intake (pictures)
Let's bring back an old thread from the dead....
I'm getting back into GTP's after about 10 years with a '98 Daytona Edition. One of the first things I plan to do once it gets delivered is to do a cone air filter like I had on my '02 (my original setup is shown on page 6 of this thread). My question is: Is there a clearance issue with the '98? I heard that the overflow bottle is in the way but I don't have the car here yet to verify. I plan on using a 9" cone with a 4" diameter pipe, maybe updating to a real carbon fiber piece instead of the aluminum. Any suggestions or first-hand knowledge is appreciated!
