Re: Blend Door Actuator Replacement
So the vents on the drivers side blow hot while the passenger side blow cold. Common sense tells me that the drivers side needs replacing but common sense isn't always the way things work with these cars. Also is it the same part for both driver and passenger side or are they different. I'm only seeing one part listed on Rockauto. Figure I might as well replace both of them while I'm at it.
Re: Blend Door Actuator Replacement
For those of you with dual climate blowing hot on the drivers side/cool on the passenger side: did you replace both sides? I replaced the driver's side, and the air is cooler now but not as cool as the passenger side. Do I need to do passenger as well?
Re: Blend Door Actuator Replacement
if its not as cold on the driver side you might need a re charge.
you can take the actuator back off turn the knob by hand to see if its blows full cold as well. thats a free test at least.
Re: Blend Door Actuator Replacement
It's free to try, but man I don't want to take that thing back off. I was all twisted up laying on my back with my head down by the pedals. Bloodied up both hands trying to get to it.
Thanks Scotty

This gives you a straight shot to the LH blend actuator (I'm 6'5" with big hands and was able to get in there with little issue). Use a 7/32" deep socket to remove the three small bolts from the actuator and unplug (no extension or ratchet required). Once panels are out, should only take a couple minutes to pull the actuator! Hope this helps...
Re: Blend Door Actuator Replacement
i took all that off, all it did was let me see the actuator while peeking through the crack, lets you find the little bolts easier, thats for sure.
Re: Blend Door Actuator Replacement
thanks, does it matter if the tilt wheel is up or down ?
Does this mean the actuator is close to the steering column ?
I thought it was by the center console above the gas pedal ?
Anyone have a picture or video ?
