Show me one post where a knowledgable member of this forum suggested using 3" tubing. Don't blame this forum because you put NO research into this and then posted pics of it like it was the cats ass. As far as pics, their is a million threads on intakes. SEARCH

Dude read what i posted above. ZZP did a flow bench test with different lengths of pipes, sizes and bends.

Thank you feather head. I appreciate the info. I am going to try a short ram setup now and see how it works. I will post pics because I need the input from you guys, whether good or negative. It's all about making my Comp G haul @$$!

Ok guys, so there are no bends now in my intake! I am going to go to my bro's shop and see about custom fabricating a heat shield for the filter that doesn't look ghetto. Obviously after reading your input from the last setup, I know I ****ed up BIG time! So, how is this?

    Heat shield won't help much.

header wrap or stainless steel headers will though.

how long does making and installing the FWI typically take?

keep in mind i have a '98 so my coolant container needs to be moved. do i just move it or do i need to but a '99+ container (idk if there is a difference between the two) and how do i mount it just drill it into the tower or something else?

if you cant tell im kinda going into this with a blindfold on thanks for any help though

the 99 and up are a different shape and get mounted on the inside of the strut tower brace on the passenger side. They are shaped very differently. It is not hard to do.

my stock throttlebody took a 3"coupling on it, so i think it is to adapt to 4" pipe for your intake. i got some **** from some of the guys, and ended up doing the short ram intake. basic, and effective.

thanks bud, I read all the threads, But like I said, My tb intake is not 3", it is 3 3/4, so I would be better off with a 4" and a good clamp.

No, a 3 to 4 will fit on it just fine. a 4 would probably be way too big.

I'm not sure what type of rubber yours is made of but the 3 to 4 that I found will not stretch 3/4 of an inch. I found a rubber 3 1/2" - 45* elbow that I think is going to work great, it is from a Parts store for Semi's, I am going to run that, with 3 1/2" Alumimum Turbo tubing, if he can get me a 3 1/2" to 4" for the filter

The spectre filter i bought from autozone had rubber adapters in different diameters, that fit into the filter to make it from 3"-4". Thats 4in diameter aluminum sheet FYI.
So i bought my 90 degree elbow which was 4in in/out. Cut it, then i put one of the adapters in the end and attached it to my tb. So i didnt need the 3 to 4 coupler, the adapter dealie took my 4 and made it into a 3.25 whcih went nicely onto the tb. looks like this:

and today i made a heatshield that looks like this
