Always good info to have around. Maybe we need to sticky this so it can be found.

Here's a quick belt routing Diagram that may be of use in this thread as well.

I like the little belt chart. It can be kinda hard for someone new to read since the belts really arent labeled.

True, but once you get in there, it's pretty self explanatory.

Reptile, your a genius. Thank you for posting up that belt diagram. There is always info out there about belt sizes but I dont think I have seen one yet of the belt diagram. Nice work.

You get my vote for an excellent thread.

Curious does anyone know what size of belt I would need to eliminate the power steering pump in my 2000 grand prix gt. This would be a great help. Thanks Corey R. Boisvert

What's the reasoning behind getting rid of your powersteering?

Ever tried turning a Wbody without powersteering? It's a b*tch if the reasoning is that your pumps bad well it's a $40 part and will properly be cheaper then a new belt.

I keep loosing all my fluid Im certain its my rack and when I was driving down the highway two days ago the pump seized up and blew my p/s pulley off. I just want this car to last me till next year so I can put it ina bagrace, enduro race, then top it all off with a derby. Before anyone get upset over this the car needs a lot of work in the near future to keep on th road.

Change the rack...go snag one from the junkyard for cheap. It's a rather inexpensive fix even if your not keeping the car for the long run.

You can't drive it as a dd with now power steering trust me,the steering wheel is a jerky plus you'll have to turn all slow lol, you'll build some muscles if you decide to go with no power steering cause it is a workout

You don't wanna drive in an enduro or demo derby without power steering. If one of your tires gets in a rut its gonna spin the steering wheel in your hands and when the spokes on the steering wheel come by and snap or sprain your thumb it's gonna hurt.
