    Hey all,

I work for Hyperco, and have for many years. I personally am looking for a totally different kit then what is out there. I have converted my Bilstein HD's to coilovers on the rear, and am getting ready to start the front, however, I know it would be nice to have a high quality lowering kit that is more suited to what I would call a track day kit. This meaning a stiff rate that does not really lower too much. We have been having a discussion on another thread, and it looks like there is going to be enough interest to move forward. I already have 1 person on board to send me a Vogtland kit, and another possible to send me a DNA kit to evaluate the spring rates, and how much they lower, etc. I am going to cycle test the kits, dyno the springs, and give them a thorough evaluation as well. If all goes well, I personally will be looking into doing a group buy type deal, with the price maybe being around $200 a kit. It may be less or slightly more, depending on what the springs would cost me. I am not looking to make a bunch of money on this deal, just make a kit that we can truly be happy with, and that will last the life of the cars, while giving us the balance we are looking for in our cars. If you are interested in loaning me a fron and a rear spring from a kit for a few days, I can get all the data, and send them back to you. We have been making OE style lowering kits for many of the high end manufacturers for many years, so I am confident that we can get together a kit that you guys will truly enjoy. If you have any questions, please let me know. This is a project that I am taking on myself, and am probably going to donate a couple of Saturdays to test the springs, etc, not necessarily a company project. Let me know what you guys think. It will probably take at least 25 kits being firmly sold to do a group buy and keep the prices down, just let me know.

25 might be a hard sell.

Also unsure how some of the cheaper struts would handle the spring rates you suggested.

Something around 300/250 to 275/225 would be a nice compromise between ideal cps for track day and street.

If you could swing them for around 150-180 I'm sure we could get a considerable group buy going

I will have to see what I can do. I can probably get them slightly cheaper, since I work here and all, but it all comes down to qty's. I was basing that price on what we have sold to guys before at the smaller qty's. After I get a few more details, I can let you guys know where we stand pricewise. So what are we thinking as far as rate and drop goes. Us Bilstein HD guys have to figure on whatever it ends up drop-wise, adding 1/2", thanks to matt's info. I was thinking more on the 300/250 as far as rate goes, with maybe 1.5"/2.0" drop. That would leave the Bilstein HD guys at 1"/1.5".

    Liking those numbers.

    Minus the uneven drop.

I was under the impression an even drop was ideal visually.

Iirc vogtland is supposed to be a 0.75" drop.

Seeing as I'm at stock height is those and hd's, it might be 0.75" that they raise by.

Don't want to go very low but id really like an increase in spring rate.

Do you have access to a shock dyno?

Curious how far off the hd's would be with that spring rate.

We have a roerhig dyno, but we don't use the shock dyno part......never had the use for it. so maybe a 1.5" drop all around?

you've gotta remember the fenders are shaped differently. an 'equal' drop is gonna look saggy on the back end.

I'd be in for a set at that price. I agree that a 1.5/2.0" drop would be the best. Looking for something nice and stiff for autocross.

Sounds interesting... definitely want to participate. Will be looking into upgrading my suspension this summer, so maybe I'll just wait for these results and do it sooner.
