Can anybody tell me if it is ok to push open the throttle butterfly with a finger, to spray cleaner into the bore? I am working on an 04 pontiac
grand prix and I want to clean the air intake because it is pretty dirty. Is it best to unplug the wire harness?

Yup, using your finger is the best way IMO.

I unplug the harness...it only takes 5 seconds.

If you are supercharged you don't wanna use any cleaning solutions. They can destroy your rotor coating.

yeah, don't spray IN the intake... And remember to leave it propped open for a while to evaporate. An intake full of tb cleaner doesn't combust just right...

Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

Do not fill your intake with throttlebody cleaner. Just scrub down the throttlebody plate with throttlebody cleaner and call it a day.

It only takes like 5 minutes to remove the tb from the car, 4 bolts.. and then you can go to town with a rag on both sides, then get a rag wet with tb cleaner and wipe down as far as you can reach into the intake.

This is the best way to clean a throttle body. I'd highly recommend it to anyone that has not cleaned their TB. Amazing what a difference it makes.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I was gonna clean it since I hadn't in the 6 years that I've owned it. Then I saw this and said I'll check it again in 6 more years.
