Does Autozone have a tester that will throw codes to tell whats wrong with your car? I have a 1997 gp. I need to find out what speed sensor is going bad.

Yes, they do, but, it won't tell you in detail which speed sensor is going bad. It will only tell you a generic code...

The car throws codes. The scanner reads them.

I think the only way you'll be able to pull ABS codes from your '97 is with an ABS scanner. Even HPT can't pull the codes from my '97. If you think you have a bad wheel bearing (associated with a dead speed sensor), just jack it up and wiggle each wheel to see which one moves.

too bad you live in Ohio because my cousin is a diesel mechanic so at his work he can read all codes and could see exactly what sensor it was

i know it has already been said but yes we (yes i work at autozone.....) can read "any" codes that are OBD II and my store will do some OBD I as well...but we just use a $100 akron scanner that just gives you the Pxxx number and a little blip of info, but hey what do you expect, we do it for free. lol
