I'm a long time grand prix owner (2001 GT) and I wanted to get some opinion on my next purchase.

I found a '07 Grand Prix GT that's been sitting on the dealer's lot for 4 years that looks like a good deal (real nice body mods, premium wheels, etc.) but I'm concerned about buying a car that has been sitting around that long (51 miles on it).

Does anyone have any experience doing something like this? Any thoughts on things I should look for (seals, hoses drying out, etc.)? I'm not necessarily concerned about right now, but the potential for problems when I get to 100k miles has me worried.

New around here so let me know if I'm not posting in the right spot.

If it been sitting there for that long you should get it for a steal
Ask them if they have drove it a lil each month, if its hard to start or the battery is dead id look into it a lill more.

only thing id be worried about is bad gas in the tank. its a car, not a piece of fruit that goes bad after awhile.

those 51 miles are mainly from moving it around the lot trying to get that b*tch sold.

    squeeze the trigger already!

    97 GT - slow, rusty
93 CTD - more slow, less rust

have it inspected at a separate shop.

OR just have them throw it up on the hoist for you and let you look underneath for signs of rust.

It should have a used title now anyways. So thats good for a sizable discount off MSRP.

The only time you have to worry about the things you are worried about with seals bearings and gaskets going bad is when you have driven a vehicle with a ton of miles on it everyday and then stop driving it for months or even years. You may have some issues with seals and gaskets drying up then and producing leaks but not on a car that has 51 miles on it its not even broken in!

Thanks to everyone for the input. I did end up buying the car (today) and I'll be posting pictures soon. It's pretty sweet I have to admit.

Any suggestions for my first modification?
