Hello all. So... I've been working on my 98 GP Gt. My current problem is I have no third brake lamp. All the other lights work but not the high mount brake lamp. So far I've replaced both bulbs and both switches. I read a couple post on here from people having similar issues and it seems the general consensus is that the wires route through the combination switch and when there's a problem with that it's common to have a problem with the brake lights and usually cruise control as well so that's most likely the culprit. I looked up a wire diagram and sure enough they definitley do route through the combination switch so my plan was to just go ahead and replace it even thought the cruise control works fine. If you've read my introduction you know that I have a 2000 GP Gt also that I'm using as a parts car to get the 98 goin again. Earlier today I started tearing them apart to do the swap an I noticed the combination switch on the 2000 looks a lil different from the one on the 98. Also I noticed wires are routed towards the center console instead of towards driver side kick panel as they are on my 98. So my questions to you guys are, will the combination switch from the 2000 work on the 98 and does anyone have an idea of what else it could be if that isn't the problem? Id appreciate any help or insight you guys can provide on this. Thanx
