A little background: I bought a set of used SD headers. I also have a full 3" zzp exhaust. My question is, will the flange on the downpipe work on the flange for the exhaust? It looks like a 2.5" exit on the downpipe.

nope.. It's a 2.5 flange on the stock SD pipe.. You'll have to weld on a 3" one of the flange on the ZZP exhaust is a 3"

be a hell of a lot cheaper at your local muffler shop. if you can weld it of course, even if the shop welds it up, i bet is far less then 50 bucks.

a bung and a flange cost me 15 bucks at my local muffler shop. iirc at the time i was building a U bend delete, i even got a foot of pipe with a flared end, all for $20. then welded it at a friends house.

Yup that should work fine.. I wouldn't spend my money with ZZP but that seems to be a easy clamp in solution instead of having to buy a flange then pay for welding and the downtime in between.

id drive up with a molotov cocktail lol if my local shop would do it for 40 bucks or less, you save the gas on the 45 minute trip and save money off the part.

im all for getting my parts as cheap as i can. oh, no guarantee that zzp pipe end will fit your sd down pipe right either. it may only butt up and not slide together.

once again, hand the old one over, they will make it the same. no issues to be had that way.

Depends if the exhaust is already on.. Which I'm guessing it's not.

If he's currently running SDs.. The flange exit is 2.5.. ZZP exhaust is 3" so if he's installing the exhaust himself guessing at home or such.. There's gonna be some downtime between him pulling off the SD downpipe to either have a 3" flange welded on so he can bolt Zzpoops exhaust on. Or just get the piece linked and cut off the 2.5 flange and some piping if needed and clamp it on. Bolt exhaust on then have it all welded if you like.

Yup I'm having to figure a solution out myself here soon.

1 or 2 days or "today" no waiting is my point, and today im sure costs less then waiting for them to ship.

and i understand whats going on here fully lol why use a 2.5 reducer pipe and flange with a full 3 inch cat back......im on board.

walk in to the shop with the old sd one, tell them you need this ( hand it to them) redone in 3 inch. done deal fast.

If all you need is a flange you can get a hell of a lot better deal than $50 for that piece at ZZP.

Depends on if he's doing it during the week or has another ride or can catch a ride to have it welded.. If it's a weekend thing then might be hard to find a shop or somebody who's available to weld then

im just offering my thoughts of WHY to use a local shop. i listed 3 solid reasons how to not waste 50 bucks and gas on a 1.5 hr drive.

All it is 3" exhaust pipe section, 3" 2 bolt flange, O2 Bung, and a metal logo for 50. Im pretty sure my local muffler man can do it for around 20 to 25

you suck ZZP's dick for some reason. lol not me. id rather drive 10 minutes to the shop and ask them for it. i know i could get that built at my local shop for like 30 bucks or so. no way they would have the BALLS to charge $50 i tell you that.

U did see where I said I wouldn't spend it directly without ZZP right..

I would look at other brands like Walker etc and see if they have something similar and cheaper
