theres a hard vac line pass side fire wall to the back of your intake. where the brake booster hose goes.

make sure its hooked up and not broken.

ran the line to where? it goes down the pass side fender under the fuse box and into the fat wire harness and into the car, then to a box, that box goes bad, the climate control unit can fail too. some cars have a vac ball in the d/s fender, under the fuse box is a T on some cars, then the other end of the T goes to the vac ball.

the air flow direction is controlled by the vac line. in the dash are two air diaphragm deals that move the linkage, this linkage breaks too.

I checked the vac line. It has suction . To the box. I have an electric vacuum solenoid . I took my glove box off, and checked around there, checked a vac line that went to this canister looking thing. I didn't feel too much suction, maybe even no suction at all. .

that line on the round thing leads back to that box under the dash. try car running, change the flow. see if it sucks more or less.

theres one on the other side too. iirc that one controls the floor. seen 2 cars here stuck on floor and defrost and both were the linkage broke on the drover side.

a few others were that box in the dash, and one other was the climate control unit itself.

and a huge bunch with just a busted off vac line off the engine.

those are all the common issues.
