time for a new egr valve, or you can try cleaning it. remove it, then spray brake cleaner in side it to free up the valve.
if need be i got one for sale http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...36-parts/page2
Hold up ... don't replace anything
Tell us the code. Just because the title of the code says insufficient EGR flow doesn't mean that the EGR is bad. Soooo if it's say something like that. Then you may want to post the code and look for what the FSM says.
I watched a forum tell a guy that was a reason to replace his egr twice. $320 later the code still plagued him. Took me under 5 minutes to read on Google to find out that the EGR flow is read by the map sensor. At which time the guy said "I glued the map together when part of it came apart a while back". Sure enough the map had failed.
Sooo if you wanna save the cost of an EGR and being pissed off longer. Please post the code and description
im not sure of the code auto zone scanned it and i dont think there printout gave me a code#.recently had issues w/ a vac line blender box issue i think thought it may havebeen related so i diconnected battery to get the light off when and if it comes on again i'll post .thanks for the replies
the code is p0401 should i just buy an egr or is there something else i should look at
Holy CHRIST.. does anyone read what I write? Does anyone search Google before just tossing parts on a car?
When was the last time you saw someone with a clogged EGR tube? Never...ever...not even on a hot summer day.
Please read #2 under diagnostic aids.
