Theres an 04 gtp in my local junkyard that had a engine fire. The vac tree on top is melted a little but the case isnt to charred. Blower turns fine.
What do yall think, is it worth pulling? It will be about $150 for the blower and intake?

If it was me, I'd replace the coupling for sure and the snout seal. Everything else should be metal. $50 for those, bearings, and new oil online. While I had it open with the pulley off, I'd consider replacing bearings anyway. Then you're just the roller bearings short of a rebuild. Might as well do them too if you have a few tools.

So yeah i went and pulled It and i guess the car was running while on fire. When i pulled it apart everything looked good except for the tips of the rotors by the throttlebody they were starting to flake off which i didnt think gen 5s did. So i guess they got to hot or something. So i guess ill see if anyone has a rotor pack for sale.

Gen V's will flake on the tips as well. Pulled one today and it had a couple small flakes missing.

Running on fire, I'd replace the bearings to be safe in case the grease/oil cooked too much. Maybe not if the seal and coupler look ok. You really going to trust the shaft seal though?
