I just got a recall notice today for the front head's spark plug retainer on my '04. Have any of you gotten the same?

Tons of people have, it's not even worth the trip into the dealership.

If you wires arent touching the exhaust manifold and the valve covers gaskets arent leaking, just ignore the recall and carry on.

I've been getting recalls on the valve cover for the last 8 years with all the Regals I've owned. Not one ever went to a dealer...lol
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

My wire retainers are oil-soaked, and I figure if GM wants to foot the bill, why the heck not? After all, I already changed the reason for the oil leak...

Haven't gotten the notice yet, but google says they will replace the front valve cover gasket on the SC engines. That's on my to-do list.

I wish there was a way to opt-out of recalls. I keep getting recall notices for ignition problem with GM cars. The problem is 2 of the 3 cars they are bugging me to fix were hauled to junkyard and have been out of service since then. I guess the junkyard are too lazy to register transfer of title and officially the car are still mine.

Tell them you don't own the vehicle and they will stop. Mailers only go the registered owner of the vehicle.
